hello, there!

It’s always good to put a face to a name, isn’t it?

I’m Sophie. I studied Art History at the University of St Andrews and so, for almost a decade, the relationship between beautiful images and compelling text has been my bread and butter and my joie de vivre. Back then, I wrote extensively on the illustrations of Beatrix Potter and illuminated apocalyptic manuscripts. Today, I still love to immerse myself in a variety of different projects, be that writing a review of the BBC adaption of The Other Bennet Sister or advising on a personal brand refresh for a published theologian.

I’ve held MarComms roles in a variety of different sectors whilst juggling a portfolio of freelance clients – everything from crafting bespoke wedding stationery to designing impact reports, consulting on brand refreshes, writing regular opinion articles, and advising on tone of voice.

In my personal and professional life, I love sharing stories, tackling taboos, and having conversations over copious cups of freshly brewed coffee. When I’m not writing content or refining a design, you’ll usually find me on walks with friends, cooking cuisines from around the world, or tending to my increasing number of plant babies.

If my style and experience sound like they’d be a good fit for your project, I’d love to hear from you!

why tīda?

You’re probably wondering, why tīda? Well, my work is inspired by the Old English word meaning ‘time’ or ‘season’ – a recognition that words, images, and brands exist within a particular context and are shaped by shifting cultural expectations and evolving audiences. I work with clients ensure that their creative output is not defined by permanence, but rather their ability to remain relevant through change. Put simply, I help clients understand the season they’re in and the opportunities they have to speak into an ever-changing world.
